This new London Police Service initiative reflects our strong commitment to community well-being by addressing concerns related to public substance use. By focusing on the respectful use of shared spaces, this strategy aims to balance public safety with compassion.
With an increased foot patrol presence in the Downtown, Midtown and Old East Village, officers will work alongside community partners to connect individuals facing addiction or homelessness with vital health and social supports.
This collaborative approach is about building relationships, reducing harm, and fostering a downtown that feels safe, inclusive, and welcoming for everyone - especially our most vulnerable residents.
